Examination:

Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination (SCRA)

Required Educational Qualification:

Interested aspirants should have passed intermediate (10+2) from a reputed university or board. He should have secured at least first or second division in 10+2. Candidates should have mathematics at 10+2 level with physics or chemistry as one of the subject at 10+2 level. 

Interested candidates who have passed graduate degree with first or second division from a reputed university may also apply. Aspirants should have mathematics as a compulsory subject in it and physics or chemistry as one the important subject. 

Citizenship:

Aspirants should be citizen of India only. 

Or aspirants who are refugee from Nepal and Bhutan who have come to India for settlement before January 1, 1962 may also apply. 

Age Criteria:

Aspirants should be between 17 to 21 years of age for appearing for SCRA examination. 
           
Application Fees and Other Details:

Aspirants can apply in online mode also. For applying through online mode candidates are required to visit official website of UPSC and fill the required details and then submit. 

Aspirants are required to pay Rs 100/- along with the form, for paying money, candidates can either make online payment or through paying cash in SBI local branch.

Dates to Remember:

Closing date for submitting application form is 12 November, 2012.
 
Forms are available from 13 October 2012.
 
Examination Date 

Examination date is 20 January 2013

Examination Pattern:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination and interview. The written examination paper will be of 600 marks for two hours. 

Paper will be divided into 3 sections:

The 1st section will contain questions of general knowledge. The 2nd section will judge candidates knowledge on physical science and the 3rd section will contain question to check mathematics ability of the candidates. 

The question in the written examination will be of 10+2 level only.
 
Medium of Language:

The medium of language for written exanimation will be English only.

Interview:

Candidates who have cleared written examination will be called for the interview. Interview will be of 200 marks.
